Free laptops, connectivity, and digital skills support for young people aged 11–19

Access to the digital world is no longer optional – it is fundamental to learning, opportunity, and connection. Tech4Youth supports young people who are currently without a suitable device at home by providing free laptops, connectivity, and support with digital skills.

How it works

Applying is straightforward. We ask applicants to complete a few basic questions to confirm eligibility, and a trusted professional – such as a teacher, youth worker, or councillor – must verify that the young person would benefit from receiving a device.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be aged 11–19 (or any specific ages related to the programme)
  • Live in one of the eligible areas
  • Not currently have access to a suitable device at home
  • Apply directly (if aged 16–19) or through a parent/caregiver (if under 16)

Please note: Resources are limited. Meeting the eligibility criteria and having an application verified does not guarantee a device. If your application is successful, devices will begin to be distributed from April 2025. Connectivity support (such as mobile internet) may also be available, subject to availability.

If you are verifying an application, please consult the relevant Tech4Youth Terms and Conditions before completing the verification form sent via email.

Currently open in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire

Tech4Youth is expanding into Lincolnshire in August 2026, giving more young people access to a laptop of their own and support to build their digital skills. The programme will also continue in Leicestershire, where 150 young people have already received laptops through our partnership with the Barratt Redrow Foundation.

If you are aged 11 to 19, live in Leicestershire or Lincolnshire and do not have access to a suitable laptop at home, you can join the Tech4Youth waiting list.

You can apply online, download a paper form, or text T4Y, followed by your name, street address, and postcode to 07984 445 476 to request a paper form by post. Before applying, please review the terms and conditions.

If you have any questions or need support, please contact us at tech4youth@digitalpovertyalliance.org.

Our Partners

This and our previous programme have been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Macquarie Group Foundation, Voneus, The Barratt Foundation, Arqiva, and the WCIT. Their commitment helps equip young people with the tools, skills, and access they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
